    Communication Alliance to Network Thoroughbred Ex-Racehorses or CANTER is an equine rescue organization, responsible for providing a second chance to ex-racehorses to live the rest of their lives happily and healthily. They accept and care for all thoroughbreds after their racing careers are over, regardless of medical condition. They also help racing trainers and owners to find non-race homes for their retiring racehorses. The first ever CANTER program was started in Michigan and further it has grown to include California, Colorado, Illinois, the Mid Atlantic Region, the New England Region, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
