Crosswinds Equine Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit horse rescue located in Sidell, Illinois. They are dedicated to rescue horses, regardless of their breed, age and size. They strive to rehabilitate, retain and train neglected, abused, slaughter bound and at risk horses and provide them with safe and good homes where they will have normal lives.

    CWER’s mission is to:

    • To rescue at risk horses, bring them back to good health and condition, retrain them and help them learn to be “normal horses” again, and place them in good quality homes to live out normal lives.
    • Help educate horsemen in proper care, training, riding instruction, and particularly owner education when an animal would otherwise be at risk of neglect or other mismanagement.
    • Increase public awareness of horse neglect and abuse.
    • Place horses with sufficient adoption fees to ensure a good home, as well as ensure funding to support those not yet ready for placement.
