The Horse Protection League is an all-volunteer organization, dedicated to the welfare of horses, as well as donkeys and mules. The HPL is actively engaged in rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of poor animals to give them a better life. Their goal is to end abuse and starvation of these equines by educating the human community, through various media like exhibiting at trade shows, visiting elementary schools, launching fundraisers and developing programs with other organization. The Horse Protection League is headquartered at Churches Ranch, near Arvada and Golden, Colorado.
