Providing Equine Education and Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit corporation dedicated to ensuring quality management and treatment of equines through owner education, rescue, physical and mental rehabilitation and community outreach. They are located in Ridgeville, South Carolina. P.E.E.R.’s goals are to improve and save the lives of equines by:
- Educating the public on horse care and the minimum requirements of horse care.
- Assisting law enforcement officers in the seizure, transportation, and quarantining of equines.
- Providing a venue for the public to anonymously report suspected abuse and neglect.
- Working with humane societies, law enforcement officials, and other rescue organizations in investigating reported cases of abuse and neglect.
- Involving the community in events, activities, and a continuing educational environment concerning the care and management of equines.
- Providing help to equine owners in times of natural or personal disasters.
- Rehabilitating abused/neglected equines.
- Placing equines in safe, loving, new homes.
- Focusing on raising public awareness of abuse, neglect, and equine husbandry.
